Why would I worry?

Isn't it easy to worry.

Let's be honest, its our default setting. When our world seems out of control we worry because we think it is in that place we will have some type of control.

Worry is connected with fear.
And fear is connected to a lack of faith in God.

I believe Worry is like a cancer that wants to consume our mind, body, and soul. Yet through it all we have a choice to worry or trust in God as our protector and Good Father.

I wrote a poem below. Poetry is kinda awkward for me but sometimes its one way I can get my feelings up and out.

Worry- by Jeff Slattery

Some days I awake to hear terrible  news.
I struggle and struggle until I have the blues.

Our nation in uproar, no hope in sight.
I want to be brave, I want to fight.

Immigrants are people just like you and me.
Hate is not the answer, can’t you see.

And there’s fights over civil issues we’ve already decided.
I thought we were a country together; that we were united.

Hurricanes sweeping across the nation.
Let’s not fear but have a prayer- invasion.

Prayer is the answer to worry and fear.
The true answer isn’t in you, don’t look in the mirror.

Don’t worry or fear said a guy named Saint Paul.
But to pray and trust God through it all.

He takes care of the flowers and the birds of the sky.
Yet we worry about food, clothing, and when we will die.

God is my captain He will lead the way.
Though troubles abound He wins the day.

Sometimes I still worry, I feel the weight of the world.
I want to hide in my shell like a sea turtle.

But my Father in Heaven declares with glee.
Give me your stress and just trust in me.
